Wesleyan Classes and Bands for Today

- Description
- Curriculum
Many have remarked that the effectiveness of early Methodist revolved around the practice of classes and bands to connect people into discipleship communities. The great preacher George Whitfield admitted that his many converts amounted to a “rope of sand” compared to Wesley’s because he failed to join them together in groups.
However, it is one thing to sing the praises of Wesleyan classes and bands in the 18th and 19th centuries, and another thing to know how to lead them today. In this course Wesleyan scholar Dr. Chris Lohrstorfer will not only teach the biblical and theological basis for discipleship groups, but he will also bring in practicing pastors and Christian leaders to share how they are effectively implementing bands in a contemporary context.
If you are a pastor seeking a better way to disciple your congregation, or simply a Christian seeking to get better at fulfilling the Great Commission, this course will benefit you.
